Maintenance/Welder
Our customer in Lena, Illinois, is looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Maintenance/Welder to work full-time on 1st shift. As a Maintenance/Welder, you’ll support production operations by welding, repairing, and fabricating stainless steel equipment used in cheese and food-processing environments.
Responsibilities of the Maintenance/Welder:
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel components, piping, tanks, conveyors, and production equipment.
- Fabricate new parts and modify existing equipment following blueprints and specifications.
- Complete repair and maintenance welding to support efficient cheese production operations.
- Ensure all welds meet sanitary, food-grade, and safety standards.
- Operate cutting tools, grinders, and fabrication equipment safely.
- Inspect welds for quality and accuracy.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime.
- Follow all safety procedures, food safety standards, and facility hygiene requirements.
Maintenance/Welder Requirements and Qualifications:
- MIG and TIG welding experience, preferably with stainless steel in manufacturing or food-processing environments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld instructions.
- Knowledge of sanitary weld requirements and stainless steel fabrication.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and work in warm, humid, or cold areas.
- Ability to work in tight or elevated spaces as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification preferred.
Pay for Maintenance/Welder: $31.00/hour.
