The application window is expected to close on: 10/26/2026This role is remote within the US.Meet the TeamCisco is seeking a Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) to lead technical engagement and market development for our Retail vertical, with a primary focus on driving adoption of Cisco Vision / Smart Cameras and related digital experience solutions across shopping malls and multi-site retail management, and global retail stores.This highly customer-facing role serves as the technical link between our retail customers and Cisco's Product Management, Engineering, UX, Customer Experience, and Sales organizations. You will spend significant time in the field meeting with retail partners, visiting customer deployments, participating in industry events, and interacting directly with customers to understand operational challenges, validate product direction, and influence the future of Cisco's Smart Camera retail portfolio.Your ImpactAs Technical Marketing Engineer on the Smart Cameras team, you can expect to:Serve as Cisco’s retail technology authority (Cisco Vision, intelligent retail analytics), traveling up to 50–70% to build positive relationships with retail brands, store operations leaders, and IT decision-makers while representing Cisco at industry conferences, advisory boards, and executive events.Serve as the voice of the customer by translating retail operational feedback into product requirements, collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, UX, and Customer Experience teams to build roadmap priorities, validate concepts through demos/POCs/betas, and identify market trends and competitive opportunities.Drive adoption of Cisco Vision across retail environments by developing repeatable deployment strategies and standard methodologies, collaborating with Sales, Partner, and Customer Success teams, while crafting tailored technical demos, presentations, and collateral (deployment guides, reference architectures, white papers) for retail use cases such as loss prevention and operational visibility, occupancy analytics, and shopper engagement.Partner with Smart Camera retail customers to document successful deployments into compelling case studies and identify innovative implementations, translating lessons learned into product improvements and developing training content to strengthen field, partner, and customer technical readiness.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree with 5+ years of related experience, Master's degree with 3+ years of related experience, or PhD with relevant experience.Experience in technical marketing, solutions engineering, product management, technical consulting, or customer-facing engineering roles.Experience developing technical marketing content, white papers, deployment guides, and customer-facing collateral.Experience delivering technical presentations and demonstrations to C-level executives, technical teams, and enterprise customer/partner audiences annually.Preferred QualificationsAbility to travel 50-70% to customer locations, industry conferences, and Cisco offices, supporting a multi-region customer and partner portfolio.Previous work experience in enterprise networking, IP video, digital signage, AV, or retail technology ecosystems with hands-on experience supporting large customer deployments or technical implementations at scale.Experience working with retail brands, retail management companies, retail technology providers, or other retail sector stakeholders.Strong understanding of competitive technologies and market positioning.Passion for emerging retail technologies and improving guest experiences through innovation.Why Cisco?
