Medical Director Veterinarian Midland NC

An established veterinary practice is seeking an experienced and compassionate Veterinarian Medical Director to provide clinical leadership while continuing to practice medicine. This opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys mentoring others contributing to a collaborative team and helping shape the medical direction and culture of a practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality veterinary care through examinations diagnostics treatment planning surgery and preventive medicine.
• Serve as a clinical leader and help establish and maintain high standards of patient care.
• Mentor support and develop associate veterinarians and other members of the medical team.
• Promote a collaborative positive and professional hospital culture.
• Provide guidance on medical protocols case management and clinical decision-making.
• Collaborate with practice leadership to improve workflows patient care and overall hospital operations.
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records in accordance with applicable standards.
• Support continuing education and professional development within the veterinary team.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding diagnoses treatment options and ongoing patient care.
• Help identify opportunities for continuous improvement in medical quality and client service.
• Maintain compliance with applicable veterinary safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
• Active veterinary license in good standing in the state of practice.
• DEA registration and other required state or federal credentials as applicable.
• Several years of clinical veterinary experience.
• Previous leadership or mentorship experience is preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians technicians assistants and practice leadership.
• Passion for high-quality patient care team development and client service.
• Commitment to maintaining professional standards and continuing education.
