Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This role provides routine and complex nursing care in a perioperative setting, using the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days shift hours are 11:00 AM7:00 PM, MondayFriday, for a minimum of 40 hours per week. On-call coverage may be required 12 times per week and every 3rd weekend (FridaySunday).
• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of employment or compact; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred); 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty (preferred).
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing; 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty.
• Responsibilities: Provides nursing care consistent with the American Nursing Association (ANA) Scope and Standards of Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation; addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families; administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness; documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided; assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and/or caregivers; makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to support clinical workflow.
• Additional Information: Float may be required only within the Operating Room between two campuses.
