What You’ll Be Doing: Working mainly in the field, serves as primary investigator on fatality and other complex enforcement inspections. Independently performing complex and comprehensive industrial hygiene and occupational safety inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with adopted OSHA standards. Providing Ohio public employers and employees with occupational health and safety compliance assistance. Identifying existing or potential safety and health hazards and/or facilitates compliance with adopted Ohio Employment Risk Reduction Standards in Ohio Revised Code & Ohio Administrative Code chapter 4167. Qualifications Position Specific Minimum Qualifications 12 months experience citing, interpreting, & applying Federal OSHA regulations & standards 12 months experience conducting air, noise, & chemical monitoring & sampling using related industrial hygiene equipment (e.g., dosimeters, sound-level meter, air sampling pumps, velometer, electrical circuit test equipment, direct reading air monitoring devices, & other equipment) Job Skills Occupational Safety Major Worker Characteristics Knowledge of: (1)industrial hygiene safety practices, laws, rules & regulations, (2)interviewing, (3)investigative/inspection techniques & procedures, (4)employee training & development, (5) PERRP policies & procedures*, (6)natural sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology) & physical science, (7)public relations, (8)1910, 1926 & 1928 OSHA Standards, (9)consensus standards (e.g., ANSI, NEC, NFPA), (10) Agency procedures*, (11)OSHA letters of interpretations, compliance directives , FOM, (12) sampling equipment calibration, (13)industrial hygiene sampling protocols .
