GIS/Geospatial Expert for AI Training

Apply hands-on GIS and geospatial expertise to improve how advanced AI systems reason through real-world technical work. This remote contract role focuses on translating sophisticated geospatial workflows, technical decisions, and AI-assisted problem solving into high-quality training data and evaluations. No prior AI industry experience is required. Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert analysis, feedback, and practical examples involving GIS and geospatial data challenges for AI model development.
• Document advanced technical workflows and problem-solving methods that use AI coding agents, including Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork.
• Describe projects where AI coding agents generated code sequences, including the project context, tool selection, and results, rather than being used only as chat interfaces.
• Evaluate and critique AI-generated solutions for complex geospatial scenarios, including navigating large codebases, debugging, end-to-end feature development, and architectural changes.
• Share real-world examples in which ambiguity or scale created technical challenges, and explain how AI agent workflows supported solutions.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project stakeholders to refine documentation and guidance materials.
• Contribute to high-fidelity datasets and evaluations used for AI training and benchmarking.

• Demonstrated expertise in GIS, remote sensing, spatial analytics, or related geospatial technologies.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding agents, specifically Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork, to address technical challenges in GIS or STEM projects.
• Experience with Python, technical documentation, problem-solving, and analytical thinking.
• A record of using AI coding agents for complex work such as large-codebase navigation, debugging, end-to-end feature design, or ambiguous project requirements.
• Experience generating and analyzing AI-driven code sequences, not solely using AI agents conversationally.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical processes and reasoning to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ongoing professional engagement in a STEM field, preferably in technical geospatial work, along with strong stakeholder collaboration skills and an interest in improving technical systems.

• Remote independent contractor engagement.

• $80 to $100 per hour.
