Job Title: Engraver

Job Description

This role focuses on creating precise and high-quality engravings for products using computer-based design and engraving tools. You will prepare and format artwork, operate engraving equipment, and ensure each piece meets exact specifications. Success in this position requires strong computer skills, accurate typing, and exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Create and prepare engraving layouts for dog tags using graphic design software and computer-based tools.
  • Use CorelDRAW and other design applications to format text, graphics, and layouts for engraving.
  • Perform accurate data entry in Excel to organize and manage engraving information and production details.
  • Operate laser engraving equipment to produce clean, precise engravings according to design specifications.
  • Review and proofread text and design elements to ensure correct spelling, formatting, and alignment before engraving.
  • Adjust and refine artwork in applications such as Illustrator, InDesign, and AutoCAD to meet engraving requirements.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6 months of graphic design experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience using CorelDRAW.
  • At least 6 months of experience with AutoCAD.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience using Excel.
  • Strong computer skills and comfort working with multiple software applications.
  • Ability to operate or quickly learn to operate laser engraving equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator for creating or refining vector artwork.
  • Experience using Adobe InDesign for layout and design tasks.
  • Previous experience in a production, print, or engraving environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a small team setting.

Work Environment

You will work in a climate-controlled facility within a small engraving department of approximately 2–4 team members. The role follows a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You will regularly use computers, graphic design software, and laser engraving equipment in a clean, organized production environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Omaha, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
