School-Based Physical Therapist - Bronx, NY

Make a meaningful impact this summer by supporting students' physical development in a collaborative school environment near Bronx, NY. This contract opportunity allows you to contribute to an Extended School Year (ESY) program running from July 6th through August 14th-a focused, 6-week assignment providing dedicated physical therapy support to students who need it most.


You'll work with a small caseload of five non-verbal students, offering individualized physical therapy sessions once per week, 30 minutes per student. This setting is ideal for professionals who value hands-on experiences and personalized care, helping each student reach their movement goals within a supportive ESY structure.


Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) with active credentials in New York State
• Experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations
• Understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ESY mandates
• Comfort with non-verbal communication and adaptive strategies
• Compassion, patience, and creativity in therapy approaches

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored 30-minute PT sessions to each assigned student once weekly
• Assess, document, and track student progress toward physical therapy objectives
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure seamless care delivery
• Implement adaptive strategies and assistive technology as appropriate for non-verbal students
• Maintain clear, timely communication and documentation as required
