If you are passionate about preparing quality food, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences, we encourage you to apply.Position SummaryThe Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to hotel recipes, brand standards, and food safety guidelines. This position plays an essential role in ensuring our guests receive high-quality meals while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.Essential ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquet, and special event menu items.Follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.Maintain food quality, freshness, and consistency.Properly prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, measuring, and portioning.Ensure all food is stored, labeled, dated, and rotated according to food safety standards (FIFO).Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, workstations, storage areas, and walk-in coolers.Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing food deliveries.Monitor inventory and notify management of product shortages.Follow all health department regulations and company food safety procedures.Work collaboratively with the culinary and front-of-house teams to ensure timely service.Assist with banquet functions and special events as needed.Perform opening, closing, and side work duties.Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent internal and external customer service.Perform other duties as assigned by management.QualificationsPrevious hotel, restaurant, or high-volume kitchen experience preferred.Ability to prepare multiple menu items simultaneously while maintaining quality.Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.ServSafe Certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain).Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Must be dependable, punctual, and maintain a positive attitude.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and work in hot or cold kitchen environments.Ability to safely operate commercial kitchen equipment.Schedule RequirementsThis position requires flexible availability, including:AM and PM shiftsWeekdays and weekendsHolidaysOvertime as business demands requireAbility to cover call-outs and assist during peak occupancy, special events, and banquet functionsWhy Join StepStone Hospitality?Competitive payMedical, Dental, and Vision Benefits (eligible employees)Paid Time Off401(k)Hotel travel discountsCareer growth and advancement opportunitiesSupportive team environmentFour Points by Sheraton Tampa Airport Westshore is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
