Aircraft Mechanic (Title 32)

Duties As an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (Title 32) with the Texas National Guard, your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

• Directs, monitors or performs overall maintenance, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more aircraft.
• Ensures aircraft documentation and Maintenance Information Systems(MIS) accurately reflect the airworthiness of the Aircraft.
• Performs in-process and final inspection of aircraft and components undergoing repair, overhaul and/or modification to verify and certify by signature adherence to work techniques, procedures and quality standards established by applicable publications.
• Plans, develops and conducts training during the technician work week to a multi facet workforce comprised of from 3 to 8 assigned military positions.
• Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises and Operations Other Than War (OOTW).
• Complies with safety, fire, security, environmental and housekeeping regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment Factor(s): This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible military assignment in the Texas Air National Guard (TXANG) and wear of the military uniform. Areas of Consideration: Nationwide. This includes:

Military Requirements : For Dual-Status Technician positions service affiliation under Title 32 USC 709 is required. Military skill set is determined by AFSC/MOS requirements. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC/MOS per statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC/MOS. AFSC/MOS: 2A3X3, 2A3X5, 2A3X7, 2A3X8, 2A5X4 Military Grades: E-3 (A1C) Not to Exceed a E-5 (SSgt) Qualifications In describing your experience in your resume, please be clear and specific. To be considered for qualification, your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment/experience reflecting the following: Specialized Experience : Experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting, and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow. Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container. In addition to journey-level experience or training I have experience performing duties as a dedicated crew chief. Other positions may include responsibility for performing, coordinating, and/or overseeing the work and any periodic inspections to be done on an aircraft whether it is alone, or with the assistance of other mechanics and/or workers. Some positions may include coordinating the work of other journey-level workers in other trades to work simultaneously on the aircraft. Other positions may include serving as the technical authority to advise on, examine, and approve all airframe, mechanical, electrical, and pneudraulic repairs of assigned aircraft. Education There is not an educational requirement for this position.
