This role is pivotal in ensuring the accurate estimation of costs and resources required for the successful delivery of complex electrical systems within data centres. Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical systems in data centre projects, including materials, labor, and equipment. Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine project requirements. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive project budgets. Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project requirements. Monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle to reflect changes in scope or market conditions. Provide input on value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing, and advancements in electrical systems and data centre technologies. Support the preparation of tender submissions and participate in bid reviews. Qualifications Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator, preferably within the data centre or critical infrastructure sector. Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and installation processes. Proficiency in estimation software and tools, such as McCormick or similar platforms. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of project controls and cost management principles. Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field are highly desirable. Day-to-Day Review project documentation and conduct detailed take-offs to prepare accurate cost estimates. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure compliance with project requirements. Attend project meetings to provide updates on cost estimates and address any queries. Monitor project progress and adjust estimates as necessary to reflect changes in scope or market conditions. Collaborate with the project team to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
