Wedding Catering Sales Manager

The Wedding Catering Sales Manager is responsible for qualifying, booking, planning, and executing wedding events, as well as select galas, holiday parties, and other social functions. This position serves as the primary liaison between clients and the hotel operations team, ensuring seamless event planning and exceptional execution.

The ideal Wedding Catering Sales Manager candidate will possess a professional demeanor, outstanding organizational skills, strong customer service abilities, and previous experience in hotel catering and event sales. This role requires managing all event logistics, including room blocks, catering arrangements, audiovisual requirements, and event setup details while delivering an exceptional client experience from inquiry through event completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to and qualify all phone inquiries, electronic leads, and walk-in prospects.
• Conduct site tours and property presentations for prospective clients.
• Sell, contract, and detail wedding events, as well as occasional galas, holiday parties, and other social functions.
• Prepare contracts, banquet event orders (BEOs), banquet checks, and other event planning documentation.
• Coordinate and participate in wedding menu tastings.
• Maintain accurate account files and client records throughout the planning process.
• Demonstrate strong negotiation and sales skills to secure business and finalize contractual agreements.
• Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, vendors, and industry partners.
• Collaborate closely with hotel departments to ensure successful event execution.
• Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer demand to identify new sales opportunities and strengthen business performance.
• Attend evening and weekend events as required.

• Professional and polished demeanor with a client-focused approach.
• Minimum of two years of catering and wedding sales experience in a high-volume hotel, resort, or event venue environment.
• Exceptional organizational and detail-management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proven customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent follow-through and problem-solving capabilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to remain composed and effective in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems preferred.
• Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings and weekends as business demands require.
