SUMMARY

University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. is seeking a QA/QC Manager to lead quality control efforts on mechanical construction projects.The QA/QC Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with industry codes, project specifications, and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

• Enhance and maintain comprehensive quality program.

• Develop and manage welding QC plans and documentation

• Review WPS, PQR, and WPQ

• Coordinate with third-party inspectors and clients

• Maintain welder certifications and inspection records

• Support training and resolve quality issues

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Degree in Welding Tech or Mechanical Engineering

• Experience in HVAC or piping systems

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

• 3-5 years of welding QC experience in construction

• Knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME IX, API 1104

• Familiarity with NDT methods (RT, UT, MT, PT)

• Strong communication and documentation skills

• Additional certifications (e.g., NDT Level II, ASQ)

• Additional certifications (e.g., NDT Level II, ASQ
