Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as an Engineering Technician administering service contracts for the project office and Monitors dam, rim dikes, berms, and abutments for signs of stress in accordance with the requirements of the Dam Safety Plan. - Administer service contracts for the project, such as janitorial service, refuse collection, mowing, grounds maintenance, pesticide application, etc.
- In consultation with the Deputy Operations Manager, Engineering Technician (Civil) team lead, and Maintenance Leader, determines extent and scope of work to be contracted and develops specifications for inclusion in service contracts.
- Develop, negotiates, administers small construction and supply contracts.
- Assist in the requisition and acquisition of materials, parts, equipment, and other items necessary for the operation and maintenance of the project.
- Monitor dam, rim dikes, berms, and abutments for signs of stress in accordance with the requirements of the Dam Safety Plan.
- Serve as point of contact for District Office in regard to dam safety.
- Maintain property inventories and disposal of excess property as directed per the regulations.
- Serves as Point Of Contact for General Services Administration Vehicles and Fleet Management for the Project.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires to travel up to 5% for Training/TDY.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

- This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
