Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide constant evaluation, observation and treatment of patients.
• Review the patient’s chart. Maintain accurate documentation.
• Assist in the safe transportation and positioning of patients.
• Assist with the counts and recording of narcotics at the beginning and end of the day.
• Prepare the operating room. Restock medications and supplies. Check equipment for proper functioning.
• Administer IV conscious sedation, per policy and physician’s orders.
• Communicate important information to patients, patient’s family and staff.
• Assist with emergencies in the operating room, as per policy.
• Assist with orientation of new personnel.
• Perform chart audits for the surgical center.
• Respect the confidentiality of patient, center and physician related information. Maintain confidentiality of patient records and use complete discretion when discussing patient information.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies
• Perform other task as assigned by charge nurse, administrator or providers.
• Work closely with physicians to optimize documentation and explain pre-procedure/discharge instructions
• Assist with post-operative calls, as required
• Document and maintain appropriate work flow in patient’s electronic medical records
• Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
• Must have current GA nursing license, BLS, ACLS and other required training
• Knowledge of equipment, instrumentation and supplies required to perform specific responsibilities
