Program Assistant

Role Description The Program Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Birmingham, Alabama. This position supports the daily operations of the assistive technology lending library, including organizing equipment, coordinating loans and returns, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with inventory management. The Program Assistant helps prepare and set up devices for training sessions and demonstrations, provides basic information to visitors and program participants, and supports staff with scheduling, communication, and documentation. The role also involves responding to inquiries, updating program materials, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure that services are delivered efficiently and respectfully to all community members. Qualifications Ability to manage program logistics, including scheduling, record-keeping, and basic inventory tracking. Comfort working with technology and equipment, with the ability to learn the basics of assistive devices and software. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Clear, professional communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with participants, families, and partner organizations. Commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and providing courteous service to people with diverse abilities. Ability to work on-site, collaborate with a small team, and adapt to changing program needs.
