Orthopedics - Trauma Physician

New Mexico Orthopedic Surgery Locums Job 24-Hour Call Coverage + Scheduled Clinic/Procedures Seeking 7 Days of Call/Month Starting August & Ongoing

Jackson and Coker is partnered with a south-central New Mexico facility that needs one week per month of 24-hour call coverage (to include weekday procedures + clinic) starting in late July/early August and ongoing. The client is seeking candidates that can cover 7-consecutive days each month & who're comfortable/experienced with some trauma, total joints & general orthopedics.

Dates of coverage needed:
Seven consecutive days each month of 24-hour call coverage
Will work in the clinic and/or OR during weekdays from 8A-5P while taking call
Anticipated 45 days for credentialing (start date of early July / early August if started ASAP)

Details/Requirements for Assignment :
Active & unrestricted New Mexico license, DEA + CSR is required
Board Certification or true Eligibility required
Scope of practice: general orthopedics + ortho trauma, total joints (hip & knee) , arthroscopy & some upper extremity
NO spine, limited hand + ankle
Mako Robotics preferred but not required
Will need BLS, PALS, ACLS & ATLS certifications
Will be required to complete daily patient rounding, complete ED consults & perform emergency ED procedures
Average patient volume: 25 PPD
Current staff mix: 2.5 FTE Orthopedic Surgeons + 2 PAs, 4 Medical Assistants
Must be comfortable working in a teaching environment & working collaboratively
Facility details: Epic EMR, designated level 3 trauma center
