We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Pelvic Floor Specialist (DPT) to join our Obstetrics & Gynecology practice part‑time, 20 hours/week. This role involves comprehensive evaluations and the development of individualized treatment plans for patients with pelvic floor dysfunction, prenatal/postpartum musculoskeletal complaints, post‑surgical rehabilitation, and sexual pain disorders. Responsibilities Evaluates and treats pelvic floor dysfunction (e.g., incontinence, pelvic organ prolapses, pelvic pain). Addresses both hypertonic and hypotonic pelvic floor issues. Utilizes manual therapy, neuro‑muscular re‑education, and therapeutic exercise. Designs safe, tailored exercise and rehabilitation programs for pregnant and postpartum patients. Helps manage pregnancy‑related conditions such as diastasis recti, low back pain, pelvic girdle pain, sciatica, and C‑section recovery. Educates patients on proper body mechanics, posture, and breathing techniques. Treats chronic pelvic pain, vulvodynia, dyspareunia, and interstitial cystitis. Integrates pain neuroscience education with manual therapy and graded movement. Assists in recovery from gynecological surgeries including hysterectomy and prolapse repair. Promotes scar tissue mobilization to restore core and pelvic floor function. Guides patients on lifestyle modifications, pelvic health strategies, and exercise regimens. Educates patients and other providers on pelvic health issues. Works closely with OB/GYN physicians, nurse practitioners, midwives, and allied health professionals to ensure integrated care. Skills Knowledge of obstetric conditions and pelvic anatomy. Expertise in external and internal pelvic floor assessments and treatments. Familiarity with prenatal and postpartum exercise protocols. Comfortable discussing sensitive topics related to sexual and reproductive health. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to educate and empower patients through their recovery and wellness journey. Education and Experience Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program. New Jersey PT License. Women’s Health Clinical Specialist certification (WCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) and/or Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC) through Herman & Wallace are preferred. Certificate of Advanced Practice in Physical Therapy in Pelvic Health (CAPP) and/or in Obstetric Health (CAPP‑OB) through the American Physical Therapy Association are preferred. 2–3 years of experience in women’s or pelvic health settings.
