Job Title: Forklift Operator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to efficiently handle materials within a dynamic production environment. This role involves moving freight, stock, and other materials using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts, as well as loading and unloading truck trailers and other vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Work with colleagues to determine work assignments, material, or equipment needs.

• Move materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers.

• Efficiently perform tasks according to standard operating procedures.

• Collaborate with colleagues to accomplish tasks safely in a fast-paced production environment.

• Address and report equipment defects or maintenance needs to maintain safe and efficient use.

• Follow all procedures, policies and understand the equipment before use.

• Speak up when observing unsafe conditions or acts.

• Perform special continuous improvement projects as needed.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency with forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.

• Experience in inventory management and material handling.

• Ability to operate sit down and stand up forklifts.

• Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes.

• Ability to efficiently pick and pack orders using RF scanners.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 20ft long pipes.

• Must be able to use a cherry picker up to 20ft.

Work Environment

Work in a warmer warehouse environment with circulating air, though racking may affect airflow. Protective gear, including a hard hat and vest, must be worn at all times, and PPE is provided.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Goodyear, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
