Job Location & Details Location: Avera Surgical Center – Sioux Falls Work Shift: Day Shift (Monday‑Friday, 5:00 am – 7:00 pm) Pay Range: $31.00–$46.25 per hour Overview Delivers nursing care by developing nursing diagnosis; establishing care objectives; defining interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. Responsibilities Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating the nursing care plan and pertinent information to other members of the health care team, coordinating with other providers, and conferring with physicians. Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting physical condition, psychological status, and social factors; conferring with family and friends; establishing nursing diagnosis, objectives, and interventions. Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals; instructing patients, families, and friends to understand condition, medications, and self‑care skills; answering questions; providing resources. Evaluates patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring outcomes, reviewing records, noting changing conditions, re‑evaluating objectives, and modifying plans. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection‑control policies, medication procedures, controlled‑substance regulations, and legal regulations. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Keeps patient care equipment operating by following procedures, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, and arranging repairs. Keeps patient supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items.
