Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Danville, IL | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Every other weekend required | Every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed Medical Telemetry unit serving patients with diagnoses including CHF, heart failure, diabetes, end-of-life care, and general medical conditions requiring telemetry monitoring
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 on night shifts, with support from patient care technicians and a 24/7 charge nurse
• Monitor telemetry using Space Lab brand monitors; a dedicated telemetry monitor tech is available 24/7, though nurses are expected to actively watch monitors
• Collaborate with Respiratory Therapy for patients on BiPAP or CPAP; RNs are not required to independently manage ventilator equipment
• Float as needed to a Medical Surgical unit and occasionally to the ICU for general overflow patients
• Adhere to a drug-free campus policy, including compliance with all drug screening requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current BLS certification required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates
• Must be able to work every other weekend and every other holiday per traveler requirements
• Must comply with all drug screening requirements prior to placement

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical or Medical Telemetry setting
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Experience caring for patients with CHF, heart failure, or end-of-life diagnoses
