Position Summary:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories (e.g., steel, electrical components, mechanical systems, construction services, indirect spend).
• Lead competitive bidding processes (RFQs, RFPs), supplier evaluations, and total cost of ownership analyses.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and risk mitigation.
• Identify and implement cost reduction and value engineering opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
• Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers to reduce risk and enhance supply flexibility.
• Support supplier audits and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and operations teams to support procurement for greenhouse construction and infrastructure projects.
• Manage procurement timelines, ensuring alignment with project schedules.
• Track and expedite critical materials and services to avoid delays.
• Oversee purchase order lifecycle from requisition through delivery and invoice resolution.
• Ensure accurate and timely procurement transactions within ERP systems.
• Maintain compliance with procurement policies and internal controls.
• Partner with engineering, finance, operations, and logistics teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
• Provide market intelligence (pricing trends, supply risks, commodity insights) to stakeholders.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to material and project costs.

Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of relevant experience required
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis) and overall Microsoft Office suite
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Deep understanding of sourcing strategies and cost analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Effective communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience sourcing metals (steel, aluminum), MRO, or engineered components.
• Familiarity with capital equipment procurement or construction-related sourcing is a plus.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, CSCP) are a plus.
