Role Description The Senior Technical Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Los Angeles, CA. This role is responsible for translating design concepts into fully realized, production-ready garments by developing detailed technical packages, ensuring accurate specs, and overseeing fit and construction standards across categories. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating closely with design and product development teams, managing fittings, analyzing sample quality, and making pattern and construction recommendations to achieve both aesthetic and performance goals. The Senior Technical Designer will partner with factories and vendors to resolve technical issues, maintain consistency in grading and sizing, and support timelines from prototype through bulk production. This position also contributes to process improvement, documentation of best practices. Responsibilities: Understand and execute company product vision, business strategy while considering the broader product objectives beyond immediate pattern and technical needs. Have a comfort level with all women's classifications (technical outerwear, woven,cut and sew knit, knits,tops and bottoms) and product categories. Be able to speak to patterns equally as to the tech pack. Be able to lead all fittings with design and the business in mind. Execute design and fit intent into sales samples while maintaining Design aesthetic. Collaborate with business partners to gain clear direction and consensus of fit intent. Effectively communicate fit intent, balance and construction to vendors. Lead fit session and take initiative as the fit expert of specific product (s). Track and manage workflow to meet development timelines. Takes ownership of assigned responsibilities and deliverables Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with cross-functional teams and external partners. Ability to adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining productivity and quality. Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction without compromising quality. Implement best practices to enhance the product. Stay current with Industry trends, innovations in technical design and construction methods to continuously improve product quality and performance. Equipment and Machines Used: Adobe Systems Adobe DC, Excel, Google, Proprietary software systems (candidate will be trained). Google Sheets, Microsoft Suite, Reporting Relationships: Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in Technical Design, specifically in outerwear and lifestyle A deep expertise and understanding of fit, patternmaking, grading, technical construction, and fabrics. A trained eye for proportion, balance and aesthetic details The ability to command fit sessions Extensive experience working with factories; full understanding of equipment, garment cutting/sewing/QA/QC process Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, MS Office Suite, and PLM systems, with prior experience operating within these platforms. Exceptional multi-tasker and communicator, extremely detail oriented, and possess exceptional organizational skills. An energized approach to collaboration and strong influence with partners and vendors. Demonstrates ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Curiosity for improving garment construction and efficiency Eager for continuous learning within tech design/technical garments Self-motivated with critical attention to detail Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Must have strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess a strong sense of urgency. Strong understanding of the end-to-end development process and the role of technical design within it.
