Speech Language Pathology Assistant

Assists the Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) with providing care to identified students. Qualifications: Valid Oregon Speech Language Pathology Assistant Certificate. Experience working with school-aged students. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of speech and language therapy techniques and interventions. Behavior management techniques. Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively with students, parents and teachers. Ability to follow general oral and written instructions. Ability to work independently and take initiative in task performance. Physical ability to maneuver approximately 40 pounds of equipment. Ability to pass a criminal background/fingerprint check ($75) and demonstrate a clean driving record. General responsibilities include assisting Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) in providing direct treatment to identified students, communicating with site staff, principal, and special education team about IEP goals, creating speech therapy materials and developing lesson plans, implementing speech activities and language activities in accordance with IEP goals and as directed by SLP, maintaining and cleaning treatment equipment and supplies, maintaining files and/or records, participating in students' daily activities, participating in meetings with supervisor, site Special Education team and training, staff development, and workshops, assisting with screenings as directed by the supervising SLP, and performing other job-related duties as assigned. Start date: August 28, 2026. Wages: $27.35 - $30.04 dependent on experience and per the 2026/27 OSEA Salary Schedule.
