This is a critical role, as the class seeks consistency and strong leadership following recent transitions.
You’ll be supported by an experienced team of paraprofessionals and will mentor a promising assistant working toward alternative licensure. This dynamic classroom requires someone who is compassionate, confident, and well-versed in behavior supports, co-regulation, and adaptive skills.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado DOE Teacher License with Special Education Generalist endorsement (Ages 5-21)
- Strong experience working with elementary-age students, especially in autism-specific or behavior-based settings
- Comfortable with diapering and providing necessary physical supports
- Familiarity with or credential as a BCBA is a plus
- Ability to mentor and train paraprofessional staff
- Must participate in district background check and fingerprinting
- Available for a full-time schedule (37.5 hours/week) from ASAP through May 27, 2027
- Reliable presence on-site
Responsibilities:
- Lead one of two ASD classrooms, ensuring consistent instruction and behavioral supports
- Implement individualized education plans and positive behavioral interventions
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals and guide their professional growth
- Foster a supportive, structured environment to help students thrive
- Deliver hands-on assistance for daily living skills when needed
Enjoy the support of an experienced team, the satisfaction of mentoring, and the challenge of helping students develop new skills in a nurturing environment.
Ready to create positive change and bring expertise to a wonderful group of students? Apply today and be a vital part of a team that’s committed to student success!
Compensation for this position ranges from $30.82 to $50.82. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
