OTR Dry van Company driver (W-2) Job in Hamden, CT by HMD Trucking

Requirements
- 1 year of CDL-A OTR experience
- No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years
- No more than 3 moving violations or 3 preventable accidents
- No excessive speeding (over 21 mph) in the last 3 years
- Must be above 23 years old at the time of applying

- Empty Miles: Paid at the same CPM as loaded miles
- Detention Pay: $15 per hour after the first 2 hours
- Layover Pay: $100 for every 24 hours
- Orientation Pay: $150
Serve as a solo OTR CDL-A dry van operator based in Hamden, CT, transporting freight coast-to-coast. Responsibilities include safe operation, load securement, electronic logging and timely delivery coordination with dispatch. HMD provides late-model tractors (under 3 years) equipped with APUs, inverters and sleepers alongside reliable in-house maintenance. Compensation begins at 65 CPM with weekly averages near 2,500 miles and various bonus programs; drivers receive biweekly home time and comprehensive benefits.
What you'll do:
- Safely drive assigned long-haul routes in a company tractor
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate ELD logs
- Ensure proper cargo securement and communication with dispatch
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL-A and at least 12 months of verifiable driving experience
