Primary City/State: Shea Medical Center – 9003 E Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ 85260 Category: Skilled Nursing Shift: Day Department: OR – Operating Room (Main) Position: Perioperative 101 Program – RN This 6‑month training program prepares nurses to work in the Operating Room. New graduates are welcome to apply but must obtain an RN license before the program starts (9/8/2026). Responsibilities Apply RN knowledge and clinical judgment in an operating room setting. Perform patient assessment, document findings, and contribute to patient care plans. Administer medications, manage IV lines, and operate medical equipment. Provide education to patients and families regarding post‑operative care, medication, diet, and rehabilitation. Delegate tasks to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides and provide guidance and supervision. Precept and mentor new hires and students, fostering clinical skill development. Implement evidence‑based protocols, such as stroke care pathways and NIHSS Stroke Alert. Participate in quality improvement, data collection, and reporting to enhance patient outcomes. Qualifications Associate’s degree or Diploma in Nursing. Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona (or eligible compact). BSN required within 60 months of hire, or 5+ years of RN experience (direct or indirect). Completion of 6‑month program; new graduates must be licensed before program start. Preferred Qualifications 1 year RN experience for all float positions. BSN degree preferred. Licensing & Certifications BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at hire.
