Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician maintains, repairs, and optimizes industrial laundry and boiler room equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations across all shifts. This role troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, performs preventative maintenance, and responds quickly to equipment issues to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, adjustments, and overhauls on industrial laundry equipment and boiler room systems to keep operations running efficiently.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to identify issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Diagnose equipment failures using testing, inspection, and observation to accurately pinpoint root causes.
• Repair or replace motors, belts, bearings, gears, and other machine components as needed to restore equipment functionality.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks on industrial equipment to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life.
• Inspect equipment regularly to identify wear, potential failures, and safety concerns, and address them promptly.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used to support accurate maintenance records and future troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with operations and other team members to schedule maintenance and minimize disruption to production.
• Follow safety procedures and best practices while working on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial environment.
• Hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, including work on production or processing equipment.
• Strong mechanical skills with the ability to repair and replace motors, belts, bearings, gears, and related components.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and repairing equipment electrical issues.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and the ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic components.
• Knowledge of pneumatic systems and the ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic components.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance tasks on industrial equipment.
• Ability to use testing, inspection, and observation to diagnose equipment failures.
• Capability to work independently on assigned shift with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in an industrial facility that operates across three shifts, with one technician assigned to each shift: 1st shift from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 2nd shift from 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., and 3rd shift from 12:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The environment includes industrial laundry equipment and boiler room systems, requiring regular work around mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic machinery. Technicians work hands-on with tools and equipment in an active production setting and are expected to follow appropriate safety practices and wear suitable industrial work attire and protective equipment as required by the facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $35.75/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
