Manufacturing Maintenance Technician II

Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on simple/manual; semi automated; and certain aspects of fully automated manufacturing equipment. Corrective maintenance activities include: troubleshooting of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, controls, and electrical systems; and minor equipment performance improvement activities.

Essential duties include performing preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, performing corrective maintenance activities such as troubleshooting of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, controls and electrical systems; supporting equipment performance improvement projects and process validation activities; contributing to process optimization and scrap reduction efforts through equipment design improvements, improvements to operating and maintenance procedures, and maintenance activities; independently troubleshooting equipment with a high degree of quality and reliability; implementing permanent corrective actions to eliminate recurrent problems; continuing to develop technical skills and knowledge; assisting in developing the technical capabilities and skills of less experienced technicians/associates; learning and demonstrating proficiency with advanced maintenance practices and techniques; responding and executing work with a sense of urgency and utilizing support systems to minimize downtime; performing all tasks in accordance with company and department policies, procedures, and guidelines; demonstrated understanding and compliance with all safety requirements; working to support dept. KPI's/Metrics/Objectives; tasks are completed in a timely fashion and correct the first time.

Other duties and responsibilities may include handling, collecting, labeling and transferring hazardous waste following established procedures and guidelines; being required to work on other shifts and to be "on call" as needed; leading special projects; requiring adherence to policies and procedures for hazardous materials, LOTO, equipment guarding, robotic safety, biohazard.

Minimum qualification requirements include a high school diploma or GED, minimum 2 years experience, 5 years preferred; technical skills proficient with tools, instrumentation, and test equipment; proficient with metric and English measurement systems; ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical drawings, flowcharts, and/or other drawings of a technical nature; basic electrical/mechanical knowledge concerning machines and tools including design, uses, repair, and maintenance; can apply fundamental skills to troubleshoot areas that they are not necessarily subject matter experts on; experience with RF welding theory/process, bonding, ultrasonic welding, hot plate welding, leak testing, etc.; demonstrated fluency with database and information systems as required by the department; basic understanding of complex automation processes; demonstrated understanding and compliance with all safety requirements; basic troubleshooting/demonstrated ability electrical mechanical hydraulic/pneumatic controls logic, programmable logic controllers (PLC's), Ethernet communication, DeviceNet, networks root cause analysis communication/collaboration demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; interpersonal skills to collaborate and communicate with peers; maintain communication with different levels of departments and peers about findings, upgrades, and troubleshooting through e-mail, texts, and voice calls; proficient with, and effective use of Microsoft office applications; ability to manage time effectively and in accordance with priorities; action oriented and takes initiative to resolve emerging issues; adaptable and flexible; works effectively and professionally with operations, and technical team members.

Physical requirements include use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, and hand/finger dexterity. Must be able to work in a clean room environment, adhere to associated policies, and perform gowning of clean room attire in the allotted time prior to start up. Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds and transport up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment. Requires good manual dexterity and visual acuity including ability to distinguish colors. Must be able to work under florescent lighting. Requires the ability to sit or stand through the duration of a shift.
