Your Role and Responsibilities

• Performing thorough patient evaluations, requesting diagnostic tests, and developing individualized care plans
• Diagnosing as well as treating acute, episodic, or chronic conditions in partnership with physicians or independently as permitted
• Providing education to patients and their families about prevention, wellness, and effective disease management
• Prescribing medicines and therapies within the limits of your practice
• Involved in patient follow-ups and long-term care management
• Working across interdisciplinary teams to deliver seamless, comprehensive care
• Accurately documenting patient information within electronic medical records (EMR)

Education and Credentials

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Certifications Necessary

• Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Tennessee
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or an equivalent specialty
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or capability to obtain within 90 days)
