Locum Tenens Urgent Care Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to provide urgent care coverage throughout a network of outpatient clinics in eastern North Carolina.

This is an ongoing locums opportunity with a primary home clinic and the ability to pick up additional shifts at nearby locations. Providers must be comfortable traveling within the local service area and supporting multiple clinic sites as needed.

Primary coverage will be in Morehead City, NC, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts in:

• Morehead City, NC
• Leland, NC
• Kinston, NC
• Wilmington, NC

Providers should be open to supporting multiple clinic locations based on operational and scheduling needs.

• Urgent Care
• Walk-in clinic environment
• Adult and pediatric patients
• No call responsibilities
• Epic EMR
• Ongoing locums assignment
• Full-time availability required

Treat a wide variety of urgent care presentations, including:

• Sprains and strains
• Fractures and dislocations
• Lacerations and wound care
• Burns, cuts, and abrasions
• Upper respiratory infections
• Sinus infections
• Sore throat and strep throat
• Urinary tract infections
• Allergic reactions
• Dehydration
• General acute illness and injury

Providers must be comfortable performing:

• Laceration repair
• Incision and drainage (I&D)
• Ear irrigation
• Wound management
• Minor urgent care procedures

• Pediatric patients (6 months and older)
• Adolescents
• Adults
• Geriatric patients

Candidates must be comfortable treating all ages independently .

• Active North Carolina Physician Assistant license
• NCCPA Certification
• Active DEA
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 12 months of Urgent Care experience as a PA
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patients
• Ability to function as the sole provider in clinic when needed
• Experience performing common urgent care procedures
• Epic EMR experience preferred

• ACLS
• PALS
• DOT certification
• High-volume urgent care experience

• Has strong procedural skills
• Can work independently
• Has excellent patient communication skills
• Is flexible with clinic coverage needs
• Can commit to full-time locums hours throughout the assignment
