• Hours/week: 36-40 hours
• Employment Type: Contract/Travel assignment
• Licensure/Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIH
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of related RN experience in acute care

What You'll Do:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the PCU / Step-Down unit
• Administer titratable medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, Levophed (manager approval required for some)
• Monitor and manage chest tubes, tracheostomies, CSF drains, and peritoneal dialysis (preferred experience)
• Support patient assessment and care planning, including EKG competency testing before arrival
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including charge nurses, RTs, hospitalists, therapists, and phlebotomists
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Respond to unit needs including float support to stroke and med-surg units with appropriate patient ratios
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including uniform and badge policies

What You Need:

• Current Louisiana RN license or eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience, including ICU or similar units
• BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Strong skills in medication titration, patient monitoring, and emergency response
• Key skills: Chest tube management, tracheostomy care, IV management, and emergency procedures (preferred but not required)
