Our goal is to meet the highest employer standards by ensuring the health and safety of our employees, protecting the environment and positively impacting our communities where we do business.We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Accountant within our Accounting Department group based in Houston, TX.Key Responsibilities:Partnering with users across the accounting organization to identify best practices, process improvements and accounting system enhancements.Creating assigned manual journal entries during the accounting close cycle.Preparing account reconciliation schedules related to assigned balance sheet accounts.Performing monthly cost allocation processes.Maintaining good working relationships with internal users and other accounting departments.Other duties as requiredRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fieldMinimum 21 hours of accounting credit or equivalent work experienceExcellent fundamental accounting skills; hands-on experience with general ledger reconciliationsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet short deadlinesAbility to demonstrate initiative and interact effectively with others in a team environmentAbility to communicate effectively (oral and written) with internal & external clientsIntermediate or Advanced Excel skillsFluctuations in workloads may require some overtimeProblem solving and analytical thinking as necessary to accomplish accounting objectivesRelocation will not be provided.Recruitment Fraud It has come to our attention various individuals and/or organizations are contacting people falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of Oxy.
