Installation Service Technician

The Installation Service Technician installs, maintains, and repairs ventilation and air cleaning systems in commercial and industrial facilities. This role focuses on the ventilation side of HVACwithout refrigeration or coolingand involves diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues, performing system cleaning and adjustments, and delivering warranty services. The technician provides technical guidance on-site, supports training of team members, and interacts regularly with customers and project stakeholders to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction.

1st shift - 5am to 3:30pm Monday to Thursday - OT on Friday

$27 - $30/hr

Responsibilities:

• Install ventilation and air cleaning systems in commercial and industrial environments such as airports, casinos, restaurants, and distribution centers.
• Maintain and repair ventilation and air cleaning equipment, ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC-related ventilation systems using appropriate tools and testing methods.
• Clean, adjust, and repair systems, including changing filters and performing routine and warranty service work.
• Assist with material handling, equipment setup, and general labor tasks required for installations and service visits.
• Perform electrical wiring tasks associated with ventilation system installation and repair, following safety and code requirements.
• Support welding and basic fabrication activities as needed for ductwork and system components.
• Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to team members during installation and service projects.
• Collaborate with project teams and interact with customers to explain work performed and ensure satisfaction with services.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a high level of safety awareness on job sites.
• Travel extensively to customer locations across regions including Santa Barbara, Orange County, San Diego, and the Inland Empire.
• Work an overnight 4/10 schedule, starting on Sunday night, with shifts scheduled between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
• Maintain a professional, presentable appearance and represent the company positively while on client sites.
• Operate company vehicles responsibly in accordance with a clean driving record and company policies.

Essential Skills:

• Hands-on experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation or HVAC-related systems.
• Proficiency in air duct installation, cleaning, and ductwork assembly.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks associated with installation and service work.
• Skill in using hand tools and basic power tools safely and effectively.
• Experience with HVAC installation, particularly ventilation components rather than refrigeration or cooling.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and wiring related to ventilation equipment.
• Ability to perform basic welding and repairs on system components when required.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying electrical and mechanical faults in systems.
• Clean DMV record and ability to meet company driving requirements.
• Willingness and ability to travel heavily to multiple job sites across a wide geographic area.
• Comfort working overnight shifts on a 4/10 schedule between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
• Self-motivated mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive customer service attitude and ability to interact professionally with clients and project teams.
• High level of safety awareness and adherence to job site safety protocols.
• Comfort working in environments where tasks may be physically demanding and involve getting dirty.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Commercial HVAC or ventilation work in settings such as airports, casinos, restaurants, and distribution centers.
• Experience as an installer, assembler, or general laborer on mechanical or construction projects.
• Familiarity with air cleaning systems and filter change procedures.
• Ability to learn and understand electrical systems associated with air cleaning and ventilation equipment.
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support colleagues with training and technical guidance.
• Presentable appearance suitable for customer-facing field service work.
• Interest in developing skills in welding, electrical work, and advanced ventilation system troubleshooting.

Work Environment:

This position is field-based and focused on installing and servicing air cleaning and ventilation systems in industrial, commercial, restaurant, and casino buildings. Work is performed primarily at customer sites, with frequent travel across regions such as Santa Barbara, Orange County, San Diego, and the Inland Empire. The environment involves hands-on tasks like changing filters, handling materials, performing ductwork, and working with electrical systems, wiring, and occasional welding. Technicians follow an overnight 4/10 schedule, starting Sunday night, with shifts between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Work can be physically demanding and may involve dusty or dirty conditions, so comfort with getting dirty and performing manual labor is important. Company vehicles are provided for travel to and from job sites, and technicians are expected to maintain a professional, presentable appearance while working in customer facilities.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Ana, CA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
