If you’re looking for a fulfilling career in helping people, find the best version of themselves, you’ve come to the right place.We are currently hiring a Shipping Supervisor - FG to join our company!General Position SummaryThe Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of employees engaged in verifying and keeping records on outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment: Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.Essential Functions / Major ResponsibilitiesOversees outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.May assist workers in shipping and receiving activities.Assists in developing and suggests new procedures/ideas for material management.Create and maintain a safe work environment.Cycle Count FG / TD InventorySpecific Job RequirementsAbility to drive change to satisfy growth and continuous improvement.Ability to suggest and recommend enhancements within the shipping and receiving area to increase company profitability.Ability to monitor daily activities within both areas by team and by individuals.Monitor daily, weekly and monthly workload, spend payroll dollars accordingly and stay within budgetary goals.Employee development focusing on bench strength.Write Performance Reviews with accurate, fair and consistent data.Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Staff are expected to act in a safe manner at all times and ensure that those around them do not put themselves or others at risk.Education and Experience Requirements3-5 years’ of supervisory experience.High School Diploma.Seek out and capture opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvement.Local Candidates PreferredThis job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions.
