Facility: This Northern California facility is a well-established community hospital offering comprehensive emergency medicine services within a 32-bed department. The facility holds a Level 3 trauma designation and benefits from 24-hour availability of key support services including anesthesia, general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, catheterization lab, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, vascular surgery, radiology, and laboratory services. Opportunity: Physician - Emergency Medicine Job Details: Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine coverage beginning January 1, 2027, with ongoing need Inpatient, hospital-only coverage with no call requirements Available shift times: 3p-12a, 8a-4p, 1p-11p, 9p-6a, and 11p-8a 8 guaranteed hours per day; overtime applies after 12 hours per day and must be pre-approved by the medical director Average patient volume is 110 patients per 24-hour period across the department Active California license required; licensed in CA only - no IMLC accepted DEA required Board Certified or Board Eligible within 3-5 years of residency; ABEM or ABEOM certification required (ABIM and ABFM not accepted) ACLS and BLS certifications required Level 3 trauma facility; no newborn deliveries received in the ED; L&D department on site Estimated credentialing timeframe is 90 days Providers must present 2-3 references including MD name, email, and phone number for a reference check by the medical director at time of bid submission Providers with a clean file may be considered for December coverage; providers with large settlements, DUIs, drug issues, restrictions, terminations, or Medical Board actions are not eligible for temporary privileges Airport parking reimbursed if provider drives themselves to the airport; ride share and taxi from destination airport to lodging and to/from hospital will be reimbursed; mileage and ride share from provider's home to departing airport are not reimbursed; rental car insurance must be pre-approved prior to booking Compensation: Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included
