Job Summary Prepares, documents and disburses payroll checks, payroll taxes and employee benefit payments Evaluates current systems, and recommends and develops operating efficiency improvements Monitors and ensures proper documentation of employee benefit payments Prepares reports illustrating payroll expenditures, including such items as tax payments and benefit plan disbursements Impact of the Role General Profile Requires working knowledge and skills developed through formal training or work experience Identifies the problems and all relevant issues in straightforward situations, assesses each using standard procedures, and makes sound decisions Works within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision Performs manual tasks according to established procedures Essential Functions Assists with duties and tasks associated with payroll. Uses payroll software, inputs payroll data, and prepares payroll checks. Processes irregular payments such as bonuses. Answers employee questions related to payroll and resolves issues. May maintain vacation and personal time records. Helps to ensure payroll practices meet government compliance. Required Qualifications Required education and experience: High School Diploma/GED required and 3-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred Qualifications Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and Written Communication Skills.
