Your New Role

• Work as an HVAC Technician / Assistant Manager based in Carlton, Minnesota, serving customers throughout Duluth, Cloquet, and surrounding Northern Minnesota communities

• Balance hands-on HVAC field service with leadership and operational responsibilities

• Run approximately 2 to 3 HVAC service calls per day while helping coordinate and support company operations

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential and light commercial heating and air conditioning systems

• Service furnaces, central air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and related HVAC equipment

• Perform HVAC preventive maintenance, inspections, tune-ups, repairs, and service calls

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, airflow, and refrigerant-related HVAC problems

• Manage a production team of 3–4 employees and oversee day-to-day workflow

• Assist with HVAC service management and coordination

• Support installation management and help keep HVAC installation projects moving efficiently

• Order parts and help maintain the materials and equipment needed for field operations

• Assist with shop, office, and other operational responsibilities as needed

• Help take on day-to-day operational responsibilities to create additional capacity for company leadership and support continued business growth

• Communicate system issues, repair recommendations, replacement options, and project needs clearly with customers and team members

• Handle qualifying new equipment opportunities from start to finish when applicable

• Maintain accurate HVAC service and operational documentation

• Follow manufacturer specifications and proper HVAC service, installation, and repair procedures

• Maintain high standards for workmanship, safety, organization, and customer service

• Travel throughout Carlton, Duluth, Cloquet, and surrounding service areas as needed

• Approximately 3 to 5 years of hands-on HVAC service, repair, installation, or troubleshooting experience

• Strong residential HVAC diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

• Ability and willingness to remain hands-on in the field while developing into an HVAC leadership and management role

• Ability to independently manage approximately 2 to 3 HVAC service calls per day while supporting additional operational responsibilities

• Experience servicing and repairing furnaces and central air conditioning systems

• Strong understanding of HVAC electrical and mechanical systems

• Ability to independently diagnose HVAC equipment and determine appropriate repairs

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance field service, parts, installations, production, and operational priorities

• Leadership or HVAC management experience is valued but not required

• Interest in developing skills in HVAC service management, installation management, production management, and business operations

• Experience with heat pumps and ductless mini-split systems preferred

• EPA Section 608 Certification

• EPA Universal Certification

• Boiler service experience preferred

• Cold-climate heat pump experience preferred

• Strong electrical diagnostic skills preferred

• Valid driver’s license

• Strong problem-solving, communication, customer service, and teamwork skills

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail and quality workmanship

• Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, mechanical rooms, outdoor environments, and other typical HVAC service locations

• Ability to perform the physical duties associated with HVAC service work

• Ability to reliably serve customers throughout Carlton, Duluth, Cloquet, and surrounding areas
