Ambition, dedication, attention to detail, and a warm smile are all winning characteristics that lead to the spirit of who we are.**Position Summary:**The Financial Accounting Senior Staff is responsible for preparing and reviewing general ledger journal entries under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor. This position requires knowledge of the month-end close process over the balance sheet, income, and expense accounts. Journal entries require reference to supporting documentation, schedules, account reconciliations, and research to ensure accurate financial reporting.**Primary Duties and Responsibilities:*** Promotes superior guest service.* Defines, maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and Core Values.* Prepares general journal entries.* Reviews journal entries and supporting documents prepared by staff accountants for accuracy and completeness.* Prepares reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts.* Completes monthly departmental financial reports and conducts analysis and research of budget vs. actual variances to ensure accurate financial reporting.* Prepares daily, monthly, and ad hoc reports as assigned.* Attends required company training and meetings.* Follows department policies and procedures in accordance with corporate policies and regulatory guidelines.* Maintains the strictest confidence of all confidential information.* Responsible for the day-to-day operations of all assigned areas.* Serves as a role model and promotes professional behavior.* Performs other duties as assigned.**Minimum Qualifications:*** Four-year degree in accounting or related field with an emphasis in accounting from an accredited university.* Five (5) years of general ledger accounting duties in a professional office setting.* Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.* Thorough knowledge of financial and accounting principles and familiarity with GAAP.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.* Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.* Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.* Must be able to sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods.* Must be able to work flexible hours.* Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.* Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.**Preferred Qualifications:*** Experience in a gaming and/or hospitality environment preferred.* Experience in preparing internal financial reports preferred.* Experience with Workday preferred.* Experience tracking and monitoring expenses related to large internal construction projects preferred.
