PT Eve Shift: 3:00 pm-11:30 pmJob Summary:Provides medical and administrative assistance to members of thehealthcare team.Duties / Responsibilities:Patient care and preparationMedical equipment managementPatient educationAdministrationDocumentation and reportingSkills / Abilities:Clinical skillsOrganizational skillscommunication skillsPerformance Expectations:Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patientsInterviews patientsMeasures patient’s vital signs and records information in patient’s chartProvides basic patient educationAssists members of the healthcare team with procedures that occur in the medical unit.May be required to draw and collect samples from patient and preparespecimens for laboratory analysisMaintains the needed clerical and clinical supplies for the unitAssist with administrative/clerical duties as necessaryAll other duties as assignedResponsibilities and DutiesClinical SupportPrepare treatment and examination rooms prior to patient visits.Interview patients and obtain relevant medical history information.Measure, record, and document vital signs and other clinical data in the patient’s medical record.Provide basic patient education as directed by licensed healthcare staff.Assist healthcare providers with examinations, treatments, and procedures performed in the medical unit.Collect specimens from patients and prepare samples for laboratory analysis, as required and within scope of practice.Administrative SupportMaintain adequate levels of clinical and clerical supplies for the unit.Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed, including documentation support and record maintenance.Professional Practice and ComplianceAdhere to organizational policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures.Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and other applicable regulations.Participate in required training, emergency preparedness, and disaster drills.Perform additional duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or a comparable program required.Prior experience working in a physician’s office, clinic, or ambulatory healthcare setting preferred.Current CPR certification required.Organizational ExpectationsProvides a positive and professional representation of CFG Health Systems, LLC.Promotes a culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and preventionMaintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practiceAdheres to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulationsParticipate in ongoing quality improvement activitiesCompletes required orientation as directed by the facilityFollows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignmentFollows facility and CFG Health Systems Occurrence ProtocolUpholds HIPAA and PREA regulationsPunctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shiftsMaintains security clearance for the assigned facilityPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
