Are you ready to join our team and make an impact?We are looking for a Director of Software Development to lead a key area of our Digital Employee Experience (DEX) platform. In this role, you will build and lead a new engineering team in Austin while driving the delivery of a strategic initiative that helps Managed Service Providers (MSPs) monitor, automate, and optimize digital employee experiences across large customer environments.You will be responsible for defining technical direction, building a high-performing team, and partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations leaders to deliver scalable, reliable solutions that create measurable customer value.As part of TeamViewer's AI-native engineering transformation, you will also help establish and evolve engineering practices that leverage AI-assisted development while maintaining high standards for quality, security, and reliability.ResponsibilitiesBuild, hire, and lead a new software engineering team in Austin, establishing a strong engineering culture and operating model.Own the delivery of a strategic, multi-phase DEX initiative that serves MSP customers at scale.Define and execute the technical roadmap for your area in alignment with the broader DEX platform strategy.Drive the full software development lifecycle, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and customer-focused.Partner with engineering, product, and operational leaders to align priorities and execution across teams.Establish engineering best practices, development standards, and quality processes that enable teams to move quickly while maintaining strong technical foundations.Champion the effective adoption of AI-assisted development practices and help shape the organization's evolving AI engineering strategy.Coach and develop engineering leaders and senior engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.RequirementsProven experience leading and growing software engineering organizations, including building or scaling teams.Track record of delivering large-scale SaaS or cloud-based platforms.Strong technical background with experience in modern distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.Experience introducing and scaling AI-assisted software development practices within engineering teams.Ability to balance technical excellence, product priorities, and business outcomes.Experience setting engineering standards, development practices, and quality expectations across teams.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across engineering, product, and business functions.Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where team, product, and process are evolving simultaneously.Preferred ExperienceExperience with MSP, endpoint management, IT operations, or digital employee experience platforms.Familiarity with technologies such as C#, Azure, Kubernetes, Kafka, Databricks, SQL Server, and related cloud-native tooling.Experience leading teams that use AI coding agents, such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or comparable tools, in production delivery at scaleWorking knowledge of model-based failure modes (hallucination, context degradation, prompt injection, non-determinism)How We WorkWe believe AI-assisted development will play an increasingly important role in how software is built and delivered.
