About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Gift Planning to join their Institutional Advancement team. The successful candidate will be a senior subject matter expert in the use of complex assets and deferred giving vehicles to achieve philanthropic goals. This role involves strategic consultation on a range of gift structures, including estate gifts, life-income arrangements, and gifts of non-cash assets. The Executive Director will manage a portfolio of high-capacity planned giving prospects and donors, with a focus on individuals capable of making significant gifts. Responsibilities also include supporting the AVP in program priorities, marketing, stewardship initiatives, and advancing best practices in charitable planning. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years' of experience in charitable gift planning, major gift fundraising, or related advancement leadership. Preferred qualifications include legal or financial credentials such as JD, CPA, CFP®, or equivalent. The role requires demonstrated expertise in charitable gift planning, success in securing complex philanthropic gifts, and the ability to develop long-range fundraising strategies. Strong communication, influencing, and collaboration skills are essential, as is the ability to travel as needed. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, with excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep knowledge of philanthropic trends and fundraising best practices.
