Special Procedures Technologist

Special Procedures Technologist Special Procedures Technologist is responsible for providing quality diagnostic radiology images and assisting physicians in the safe operation of equipment during interventional procedures. The position requires full‑time commitment of 40 hours per week. Responsibilities Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others. Assist physicians during interventional procedures. Apply appropriate aseptic surgical techniques. Evaluate images for technical quality. Maintain current knowledge of sterile supplies and techniques used in procedures. Prepare, operate, and care for equipment and other technical instruments used for administration of contrast agents, patient monitoring, and surgical intervention. Prepare patients for procedures, provide physical and psychological support, position patient to best demonstrate the anatomy of interest, and immobilize patient as required for appropriate examination. Assist with instruction of student technologists and other health care professionals. Inventory and control specific angiography items such as catheters, guide wires, and interventional sets; may control inventory and purchase supplies for the assigned area. Prepare images for interpretation and storage in the PACS system. Select and operate the appropriate medical imaging equipment. Qualifications Associate's Degree (Required) ARRT Radiography (R) certification within 1 year of hire BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire Compensation Estimated hourly range: $30.56 – $47.37, based on experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
