Job Description

The Specialist Fulfillment plays a key role in supporting order processing and assisting in the preparation and distribution of prescription medications using a dedicated fulfillment system. Based in a specialty pharmacy environment in the North Fayette suburb of Pittsburgh, PA, this position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and focuses on accurate, timely handling of mail-order prescription shipments that directly impact patient health and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual packing duties, including packing and shipping completed prescription orders with a high degree of accuracy.
• Verify that all orders meet established quality standards and specifications before shipment.
• Prepare packages for mailing, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and packaging materials are used.
• Stock non-pharmaceutical products in designated areas in accordance with applicable pharmacy regulations.
• Handle material movement activities such as unloading, material handling, stocking, and organizing inventory.
• Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including checking incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and condition.
• Conduct regular cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Label items and inventory clearly and consistently to support efficient order fulfillment.
• Support department training efforts by assisting in onboarding and guiding team members as needed.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as needed based on operational judgment or necessity to ensure smooth fulfillment operations.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and grasping while handling inventory and packages.
• Maintain a strong focus on timeliness and accuracy in all fulfillment activities, recognizing the critical impact of delayed or missed shipments on patient health.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• 12 years of relevant experience in warehouse, fulfillment, material handling, or a similar environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills for clear, accurate information exchange.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate diplomatically and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively, with or without accommodations.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting throughout the shift.
• Willingness to work a flexible shift within the MondayFriday, 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. schedule as operational needs require.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with material handling, unloading, shipping and receiving processes.
• Experience in inventory-related tasks such as cycle counts, stocking, and labeling.
• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in order processing and packaging.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment where precision and timeliness are critical.
• Interest in career growth within a pharmacy-related setting, including potential development toward a pharmacy technician role after becoming permanent.

Work Environment

Work is performed on-site in a warehouse-style setting with active material handling, inventory management, and packing activities. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and the position involves regular physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Team members operate within a structured, quality-focused environment where every action contributes directly to patient health and safety.

This is a Contract position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
