Cloud Provisioning Engineer

Job Description Allstate is looking for Cloud Provisioning Engineers within ATSV Infrastructure Services. Within IS, the cloud engineers are responsible and accountable for the engineering and operation of the Allstate cloud platforms. The cloud platforms are comprised of multiple public cloud environments, continuous integration and continuous delivery tools and pipelines that enforce our security and operational standards. Responsibilities Build and maintain opinionated secure cloud environments and platforms aligned with business and security strategies. Standardize, design, and automate the deployment of software in cloud environments. Improve engineering practices and guide teams in using frameworks for infrastructure as code and immutable infrastructure concepts. Manage complex technical designs in engineering and operating cloud platform infrastructure. Contribute to the strategy and design of continuous integration and continuous delivery frameworks and tools. Define and develop new products and services that provide functions-as-a-service and are user‑centric. Decide on the appropriate use of open‑source and commercial technology based upon industry trends and innovative concepts. Work primarily in an Extreme Programming environment and support paired programming/engineering models. Technical Skills Demonstrable experience designing and implementing complex applications and distributed systems in public cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.). Experience and solid understanding of complex, multi‑region, highly available, stateless and state‑full deployments. Solid understanding of security and compliance frameworks, standards and implementation in public cloud environments. Experience with infrastructure technologies such as network, compute, and storage. Experience with DSLs/frameworks for managing infrastructure as code (e.g., CloudFormation, Env0, Terraform, OpenTofu, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, BOSH). Infrastructure programming using languages such as Python, Groovy, Ruby, Go. Familiar with IaC scripting tools such as the AWS CLI and boto3. Hands‑on experience using continuous integration/delivery tools such as Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Concourse. Additional Skills Preferred 4+ years of application development and infrastructure engineering experience. Mentor different teams across engineering practices including extreme programming, product mindset, cloud/as‑a‑service approach, and infrastructure as code. Hands‑on style – willingness and competence in producing necessary changes in infrastructure and processes. Work effectively in diverse, multi‑tasking, high‑pressure environments to meet aggressive schedule targets. Communicate effectively across groups of diverse backgrounds. Identify creative solutions for technical challenges. Compensation Compensation offered for this role is $98,100.00 – $167,850.00 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
