Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in executing individualized treatment plans designed to enhance patients' mobility, strength, and functionality.
• Facilitate therapeutic exercise sessions, guiding patients through stretching and strengthening activities, while ensuring they adhere to the prescribed protocols.
• Monitor and document patient progress, noting improvements in range of motion and overall functional capability, and collaborate with the therapist to adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Administer physical therapy modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy under the supervision of the licensed Physical Therapist.
• Prepare treatment areas, ensuring that necessary equipment and supplies are organized and readily accessible for therapy sessions.
• Educate patients about appropriate body mechanics and home exercise programs to support their recovery post-treatment.
• Provide encouragement and emotional support, helping to foster a positive atmosphere that motivates patients during their rehabilitation.
• Engage with the interdisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
• Maintain compliance with ethical and professional standards, safeguarding patient confidentiality throughout all interactions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from injuries, surgeries, as well as chronic conditions. Our focus includes but is not limited to athletes requiring sports rehabilitation, elderly patients undergoing geriatric rehabilitation, and pediatric cases where specialized therapeutic approaches are essential. Your role as a PTA is pivotal in ensuring tailored care that aligns with the specific challenges and goals of each patient.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting, with a focus on providing comprehensive patient care.
• A valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• A solid foundation in anatomy and physiology, along with knowledge of applicable therapeutic techniques.
• Exceptional communication skills to build rapport with patients and collaborate with the healthcare team effectively.
• A compassionate, patient-centric approach to healthcare that prioritizes the rehabilitation goals of each patient.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for effective documentation and time management.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a rehabilitation or hospital setting is a strong plus and preferred.
