Recycle 1 – Scale House Operator

We are searching for a Scale House Operator. This position is responsible for accurately weighing vehicles and materials, managing scale tickets and related documentation, providing customer service, and maintaining a safe and organized scale house environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Vehicle and Load Weighing: Scale House Operators operate truck or grain scales to measure incoming and outgoing loads, generating accurate scale tickets and transaction records for drivers, customers, and internal departments . They verify essential load details such as customer, hauler, material type, and project location.
• Office and Clerical Duties: Operators often perform administrative tasks including data entry, preparing financial reports, coding invoices, payroll reporting, and maintaining records for billing, safety, and regulatory compliance . They answer phone calls, greet visitors, and handle customer inquiries, often serving as the first point of contact at the facility .
• Safety and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with safety policies and industry regulations is critical. Operators monitor vehicle traffic, inspect loads, report unsafe conditions, and maintain documentation for quality and legal requirements . They perform routine equipment checks and calibrations to maintain accuracy and adhere to company and governmental standards .
• Facility Maintenance and Organization: Daily cleaning and maintenance responsibilities include keeping the scale house, office spaces, restrooms, and surrounding areas clean and organized. Operators may also perform light maintenance on office and scale equipment .Your Background and Strengths.

Your Background and Strengths

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Some employers value post-secondary coursework or training related to logistics, materials handling, or office administration.
• Experience: Prior experience in office support, logistics, customer service, or material handling is advantageous but not always mandatory.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with computers, data entry, scale software, basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), and standard office equipment.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 20-30 lbs, perform tasks requiring stooping, kneeling, or standing for extended periods, and some work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Other Abilities : Strong attention to detail, clear verbal and written communication, problem-solving, organizational skills, and customer service aptitude . A valid driver’s license may be required in some positions.
