ICU Nurse Position

St Catherine - Garden Unit ICU (Please specify if specialty ICU, i.e., MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU, etc.) # Beds 10

General ICU Nurse:Patient Ratios 1:2

Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CRRT

Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Abd Pain, CP, Fever, Cough, Dyspnea, Headache, Injury, Extremity Pain

Experience or 'Must have' skills: Understanding of working in rural and using telehealth for critical care/pulm. Will have onsite hospitalist.

Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes

Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Vasopressors, Inotropes, Sedatives, Analgesics, Metabolic, Specialized

Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes

Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes, depending on volumes

Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes

RT in ICU 24/7: Yes

RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, vents

Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? No. RNs should be able to read strip and escalate

Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): Self scheduling and Block

Weekend Requirements: Yes - Full and part-time employees are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule, aligning with department needs, unit staffing plans, and ensuring equitable distribution among all staff

Holiday Requirements: Yes

Is there a call or standby requirement? Determined by NM

Floating Requirements: Determined by NM; if an extreme need could float within zone 4

Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue
