Travel OR RN Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Operating Room RN for a 13‑week travel assignment at a hospital in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Location & Duration Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin – 13‑week travel assignment. Required Qualifications At least one year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) Preferred Qualifications ACLS, PALS, or ENPC certifications Or Nursing Certification (CNOR) Other certifications and licenses as may be required Essential Work Functions Prepare the operating room and ensure instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready for each surgical procedure. Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and ensuring comfort and safety during surgery. Maintain a sterile field, adhering to infection control and sterile technique protocols. Anticipate surgical team needs and provide instruments, supplies, and support promptly to maintain workflow. Monitor patient’s condition during surgery, document significant changes, and notify the surgeon. Handle surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization, and disposal. Manage specimen collection, labeling, and transport per facility protocols. Document all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting accurately and thoroughly. Participate in hand‑off communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases to ensure continuity of care. Assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, following infection control and turnover protocols. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and standards. Follow hospital safety rules, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Essential Skills & Physical & Mental Requirements Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; proficiency in PC skills. Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend, and work in a standing position. Ability to work effectively with a range of personnel, maintain a positive attitude, and professional demeanor. Fine motor skills for manipulation of instruments and equipment. Mental resilience to handle frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, and manage irregular schedules. Visual acuity and effective communication capabilities.
