Buyer

The Buyer, is responsible for coordinating and scheduling material purchase orders based on materials requirement planning and system needs. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Financial Planning, Analysis and Budgeting.Responsibilities:Reviews approved purchase requisitions to prepare and place purchase orders for requested supplies/equipment according to order scheduleCreates and manages purchase orders for the acquisition of supplies for various departmentsIdentifies opportunities for cost savings based on vendor and item selectionInteracts with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure the proper acquisition of suppliesInitiates and confirms purchase orders by Electronic Data Interchange (EDI); fax or email to vendors for orders placed through OracleVerifies pricing and availability of items being ordered and confirms delivery informationCommunicates with departments regarding the status of their orders; takes corrective action when neededVerifies that items requested are on a National GPO Agreement, if applicableEnsures that items are entered correctly to minimize errors and works with Accounts Payable to ensure proper coding of purchase ordersProcesses capital requests according to policyResearches product information for supplies/equipment; obtains literature and prices quotes as necessaryArranges for the delivery of supplies and equipment as requestedMonitors and updates pricing on Oracle; maintains Item dictionariesMaintaining Item Master, including inventory analysis pertaining to obsolescence or substitutions.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED requiredTwo years’ experience in medical supply chain or related field; education may substitute for years of experience.Must have excellent analytical, communication and organizational skillsMaintains a positive customer service attitude with staff, visitors, and vendorsRequires strong computer skillsKnowledge with Oracle MRP software preferredLocation: Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital located at 3599 University Blvd South, Jacksonville, FL 32216Hours: Monday - Friday, 10am - 7pm with an hour lunch or 10:30am - 7pm with a 30 min lunchThriving in a culture that you can be proud of, you will also receive many employee benefits such as the following:Competitive PayComprehensive Benefits packageVacation/Paid Time OffRetirement PlanEmployee DiscountsClinical Education and Professional Development Programs #J-18808-Ljbffr
